Good day everyone i need some advise I have a THERMALTAKE gf1 1000w PSU, according to the manual it has a 120watt output per pcie slot, so I bought a an 4 way pcie adapter for my tuf 4070ti GPU, is it ok to use this or would I over current my GPU, I'm not really familiar how the PSU works, so I worry of using this adapter, since I already bought the 4 way is it ok to use this or should I buy a new 3 way adapter thank you

The manual I found says 150W as that is the standard for PCIe 8pin.

What's the issue with the 2x8pin to 12vhpwr adapter that came with the 4070ti? 2x8pin(2x150W)+ pcie slot(75w) should be enough for the card(375w) since the gpu only consume ~300w.

But to answer your question, no you can't supply to much wattage to the gpu, it draws as much as it needs. If you could overcurrent, you would either need to plug/unplug cables as load changes or run Furmark 24/7.

So I shouldn't use 4x8pin for the adapters?

RTX 4070 Ti  is a 285W card.

4x 8-pin gives you up to 600W.

The ASUS TUF card should have already INCLUDED a 2x 8-pin cable.

Use that. You didn't need to buy a 4x 8-pin cable in the first place.

My PSU max output pcie is 120w I'll be short in watts if I use it, attached is the image of the manual, I should have bought 3 way adapters but I already bought it so my issue is would it be a problem if I used the 4 way adapter or the GPU will only use the power it needed it would not damage my GPU,

??? What?

The "120W" is the +3.3v and +5v voltage rails.

Nowhere does it say your PCI-E power connectors are 120W each.

The PCI-E power cables are from the +12V power rail.

You have a single 83.3A +12v rail = 1000W from your PCI-E connectors combined.

Graphics Card pull power from the +12V, and NONE from the +3.3v or +5v.
