So I’m planning on modding a Mac Pro case, putting a gaming PC in it, and running Windows and macOS dual booted. I need 11/12th gen Intel CPU and any AMD Gpu that is a year or two old. I chose the i5 12600K paired with an RX 6600 XT. Those are pretty good mid-range parts for things like BeamNG Drive, Forza Horizon 4/5, and Minecraft, right?

Anyways, I’m still going with those parts because they work well with my budget. But according to PC builds bottleneck calc., I have a ton of Gpu bottleneck. It said at 1440p gaming, about 45% of CPU would be used, and 100% GPU would be used. Can someone tell me if this is true?

If it is true, what’s another AMD Gpu under $320 that would have less bottleneck??

GPU bottleneck just means that you're not held back by your other components. It's fine. That's exactly how it's supposed to be as long as you're getting your desired performance.

That said, bottleneck calculators are complete BS, just ignore them.

Also check prices of RX 6650 XT,. often they are cheaper and actually faster than RX 6600 XT.

Ok, thx for the help. Seems like you three (and others that might reply later on) agree that these calculators are BS.

@jaslionI love the idea but I need to use 11th or 12th gen in order to hackintosh. I also don’t have a budget, my budget is basically “don’t spend too much, and get low to mid range parts.”

@WereCatI will look out for that!

btw I am an Apple fan 🙂

you can most likely tell from my username and profile photo, I like IBM PowerPC macs and other retro Apple computers, but I like the new ones too, that’s why I’m a

doing a hackintosh.
