okay guys im trying to update my bios from the dell website nad it says I need to double tap the file to unzip it! but when I double click it.

it just pops up with a window and it doesn't do anything

@Volbet I can try but IE doesn't alow copy and pasting its for my dell poweredge 2950 rackmounted server its an ancient version

Then it's understandable why you want to update.

 

I have looked into the different files for the BIOS and as far as I can tell, the OS version matters, so download the one that fits your OS.

And to unzip the file, can't you just right click it and open it that way?

How does Dell recommend that you installe the BIOS?

As far as I can tell you would have do it through the a floppy disk (it would probably work with other removable media, but I'm not sure).

You can also unpack a .exe file by usibg either 7Zip or WINrar.

I'm sorry that I'm drawing a bit of a blank here, but I have little to no idea about how the server works in this regard.
