cable bending prevention?

anyone know the best way to prevent cable bending for this flat type of cable for earphones? they bend towards the ground and they remain in a "bent" position whenever i take them out.

 

for those who cant read, what im trying to get is, how do i prevent a straight 3.5mm audio jack cable (as you can see on the picture) from bending?

I usually use clear tape around the ends where the cable and head meet. so to prevent bending around those areas. You can get a cylindrical shaped rubber and place it in the same place to basically remove the clear tape "tackyness".

 

A heat shrink tubing would do nicely but try at your own risk.
