Need opinions on these pc parts!

Go to solution Solved by 8tg,

99% of the issues with this build fit the same category of paying quite a lot extra for some marginal improvement or unwarranted excess

I’ll detail that a bit, but overall there’s nothing inherently wrong with the build. They’re good part choices, just kind of non optimal.

I imagine you’re aware of this, paying a bit extra for white components or an excessive psu or cooler, etc

I would maybe drop down on the psu a bit as a seasonic prime for a conventional build like this is a bit much. Cooler Master makes some 80+ gold units that are white and come with white cables if you wanted to go further with the white color theme.

And then i would look at the i5 12400F unless you really want the e cores or have some specific use case where the e cores are beneficial, because otherwise the B660 motherboard means no cpu overclocking, which negates much of the point of the K sku

And then the 12600K doesn’t oc very well anyway, you’d be better off with a 13600k on Z690/790 if you wanted to oc as the 13600K actually shows decent improvement with a minor oc.

tldr

-drop the psu down a bit

-12400F + B660 or 13600K + Z690/790

-maybe a faster ssd, WD blue is fine but like, crucial p5 plus costs the same and is faster

Hello! I have been a pc gamer since about 2020 (all of which took place on a pretty slow Samsung desktop lmao), and have finally decided to start building my own pc! I have all my pieces picked out, and would just like some opinions/recommendations on the things I have! I am doing a pink and white build, and I love rgb lol. My budget is around $1,500. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s input! Thanks so much! 💕🤍

Cheaper but much better all around, still maintain the white and RGB look that you want except for GPU.

For a $1500 you went with a 24" 1080p monitor, 3060 Ti which is good 1080p GPU, and 12600K. But I spend money where it matters more, 27" 1440p 170hz monitor, RX 6700 XT which is good 1440p GPU, and still keep the 12600K.

Your cooler choice is poor, you're essentially just paying for looks, which aren't even that good to begin with, PSU is way too overkill, 12600K is not a good value anymore, 12600KF however is different.

If you insist on the white GPUs, then it's your choice, go with the 3060 Ti, but I'd suggest to get i5-12400 and a 1080p monitor instead.
