Old HDD, New MoBo

So, I screwed up. Big time. I forgot that when putting an old hard drive onto a new motherboard, you have to do some thingies to make sure Windows remains activated. In my infinite silliness and face-palmness, I completely forgot, and now I'm told every couple hours to activate Windows. It's not the biggest deals in the world, but it is annoying sometimes, especially when I'm playing games. I see a few options to fix this. I could buy a new copy of the OS (nuh-uh, not gonna happen), call Microsoft and see if they can do anything about it for me, pirate a new copy of Windows 8.1 (I will probably do this, but maybe not.), or see if it will work still by putting some of the parts back in my old computer and then do the proper thingies.

I'd really appreciate some help with this; would the last option work at all? That seems like the easiest, least aggravating, and most legitimate of them.

You COULD use a "windows loader" (not sure it works on 8.1) probably breaking CoC

Just find your 8.1 key with some third party program, then call microsoft and explain that you've had a hardware change. They're usually fairly helpful getting you reactivated.

call windows, imo they have a great help line! i could tell an awesome story but what its about is against the CoC

 

if you tell them you bought a code, and you tell them i wont work anymore, they will probably give you a new one, if he/she doesnt, just call again untill someones does,
