So today i decided to do a dumb move by quickly cleaning some visible dust while my pc was still on because i was lazy to turn it off. I blew on some dust and wiped some off with my hand while not touching any of the components for like a couple minutes. When I looked at my monitor everything was frozen so i rebooted my pc. My fans are spinning, motherboard rgb is on, gpu fans are spinning as well, but theres no signal to my monitor, keyboard or mouse, i cant access bios either. Id like to know whats causing the problem and if i damaged something i could just buy the new component since my PC could do with some upgrades anyway. Thank you for help in advance.

You can reset CMOS by using jumper, or shorting the CMOS reset pins using something electrically conductive, or taking off the battery. Or using CMOS reset button if your motherboard provide you with one (high end motherboard usually).

Doing this will reset your BIOS settings to factory default.

Talking about a hard reset, unplug the system, remove the cmos battery from the motherboard, press and hold the power button for a few seconds to drain any remaining power from the system

then replace the battery, plug the system back in and turn it on, see where it’s at then

If it’s the same issue I would start regular hardware diagnosis, reseat everything and check cable connections

something may have just been bumped, a ram stick slightly off seat would freeze a system and leave it on but unresponsive

Ok, i fixed it, its working now. I checked every cable and i think my cpu cable was a little bit loose, dont know if that was what fixed it, since i also took out the cmos and did what u said. It didnt let me in at first saying that my cpu fan isnt plugged in when it was, so i changed it to the second port for the cpu fan and it finally let me into windows. Thanks!
