Should 2 different SSDs with the same controller and nand type perform the same/similarly?

Chikensoops

Currently looking at the Transcend MTE110s, and saw that it has very similar specs to the Silicon Power A60, same controller and nand type, while being a lot cheaper. Should I expect them to perform the same? I could only find few reviews for the MTE110s, but a lot for the A60.

Please mark as solved if I answered your question.

I don't see any mention of a DRAM cahce on either SSD. I recommend against getting these as you can run into scenarios where they are gonna be even slower than harddrives.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

Its just gonna be a game and movie storage drive, so super high speeds aren't expected anyways. I'm not using an hdd because of space constraints in an itx build. For my boot drive I am getting a decenter ssd with dram cache (Addlink S70)

Ok, if you're fine with a DRAM-less SSD I'd say just go with the cheapest option.

Firmware could make a difference, but if you're mainly doing reads it probably doesn't matter much.
