Graphics card not showing display

LiamBlenx

Hello there,

Background Info

Tried all I could think of but struggling to get my GPU to present a display. I’ve been using my IGFX to get into the BIOS. It’s an older system that I want to give on to a younger family member as a gaming system.

Specs

CPU: Intel i5-8600K

Mobo: Z390 Gigabyte Aorus Pro

GPU: XFX AMD 6700XT

RAM: Kingston FURY BEAST 16GB

PSU: Gigabyte P850GM(the non exploding edition)

So far

I have mainly concentrated on getting the BIOS to recognise the device as being plugged into the PCIE slot.

So far I have been unable to get it to detect any GPU that gets put in.

I’ve tested it on the PCIE 16 and 8 slots and had no success. I have a 1050ti I use for diagnosing as it doesn’t require power outside of what the PCIE supplies. This has had no success in being recognised either despite it turning on the fans.

I would chalk it up to the Mobo being buggered but I have a PCIE to M.2 expansion slot which works in both of the PCIE 16 and 8 slot.

I have reset the CMOS aswell as updating the BIOS to the latest revision.

Any advice on how to get this working would be appreciated!

Does the card work in any other system?

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

Can confirm the cards work, tested on another system. Cleaned up the connectors and they are looking good.

Try updating the drivers on the other system.
