Hello everybody,

I have a Question about Latency on Optical HDMI Cables, Google and Youtube could not deliver a good answer.

I just bought the New LG 27GR95QE-B Monitor

240hz

0.03 ms GtG

I am going to place it about 12m from the PC, so optical cable it is, could not find an cooper HDMI 2.1 this long

Does anybody have information or numbers on the added latency of an optical HDMI Cable

(not the fiber/speed of light part, many informations about this, the signal Processing insinde the cable or the whole chain)

because with an 60fps 20ms monitor 1ms (made up number) would be 5%

but if the marketing is true (hehe) 1ms would tripple the theoretical latency.

i am 100% sure i will not notice a difference.

do not care about real world performance of this setup

but my little nerd wants to know

and i am desperate to get more information than one blog post from bob from Retro RGB

Looking forward what you guys are thinking about this, and to learn something, and mire input in this topic.

Greetings from Germany 👋

It's going to depend on the chip inside the cable that is doing the conversion.
