DayZ Melee Weapons

I was playing DayZ a few minutes ago and I went to kill a zombie with a firefighter axe and it took like 12 hits, And I hit it in the head like 6 times. I remember that the axe use to be a 1 hit kill to zombies, did they nerf it? Whats the best melee weapon now?

Yeah they screwed the melee weapon damage. They'll fix it when they become competent at developing.

I will have you know that they are very good at developing, just extremely slow and with all of the priorities being ignored.

Aim above the head so the axe model hits the head not the crosshair.

They messed it up. I don't even carry a melee weapon now because they 're useless and make it easier for people to spot you.

Just shoot them with a gun, one shot to the head.
