The consensus on this forum is that TN panels are awful. But looking around on the Internet people complain a lot that IPS are bad for gaming because of ghosting and motion blur. How much of this is people dragging up issues a technology had about a decade ago, and how much of this is actually an issue with IPS monitors in 2014?

I can't notice ANY ghosting/input has on my Asus PA248Q. Though I haven't had much experience with TN monitors, not all of them are awful. Some of them are very nice with accurate and deep colors.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

Haven't noticed any of that with my 3x LG 23ea63v IPS monitors.

I agree with this about TN. I have two and one of them has awful colour reproduction and viewing angles, and the other is actually really good.

I've never noticed ghosting on my IPS.  I think a lot of people say IPS has ghosting issues and slow response time just because other people say it.  There probably are still some IPS monitors that are a bit slow, but very few from a modern selection of IPS displays.

Never saw an IPS panel with ghosting since 2008, on decent models

I drive a Dell U2410, and really no ghosting.

Although, it must be noted that I know that many HP IPS panels do have slow response time. But all models suggested here, even the low end one, don't have visible ghosting, to my knowledge, and those who I had a chance to actually use them.

Haven't noticed anything like that with my PB278Q.

Tbh my previous 3x vg248qe setup was really nice, but the PB278Q is ridiculous on the quality of images it puts out compared to my old vg248qe's.

In love with this thing :)
