I wonder if there is any news on 4k 27"/28" 240hz Monitors or something.
The market is lacking high refreshrate Monitors in 4K. The only 240hz panel is curved and 32" its bugging me.

I have absolutely no interesst in OLED panels as Gaming Monitor. Fast IPS came a long way not much slower in pixel responsetimes anymore (about 1ms-ish)
Im playing 12hours+ a day my PC runs over 18hours a day, OLED wont last me long.
I also think most benefits from OLEDs are canceled out with the way you HAVE to use them with a PC, low brightness, low saturation etc. just to prevent burn-in
For me its just a flawed panel tech with no purpose.

Just get a 1440p one?

Even a 4090 isnt up for that except in light esports games

which i would be fine with. Because tripple A titles or other noncompetitive games dont necessarily need high refreshrates or FPS.
The reason for getting 4k is bc games look worse and worse, visibility wise, Higher pixel count helps tremendously.
Apart from that you get nice YT / Netflix etc experience.

?

The page is in German, but you can translate it for sure with google. There are a bunch of mini-led monitors and some with 4k.

Oh yeah totally fair I play games on low because I can't distinguish anything anymore otherwise.

My eyesight is fine there is just so much visua clutter idk whats happening anymore.

As for monitor if you can wait till q2-q3. 4k stupid high refresh is currently non existant basically. Or very first gen with the usual pixel ghosting issues.

Id opt for the more estanblished 144hz-165hz category you wont notice the difference anyway unless you are like a pro gamer 😛

i dont think that i can go back from 360hz to 144hz. Its a huge gap. I tried a little bit with different Monitors but 144hz is kinda sluggish. 240hz is where its starts to be mostly smooth.

And apparently not even anything else announced at CES. Which is dissapointing. Usually after announcement it takes one or two years for Monitors to be released

Id say keep what you have and wait.

The 409 is the FIRST card to do 4k high refresh well so the market is basically a handfull of people so to say so basically no drive for it yet

yea thats a thing tho, im about to upgrade my GPU, and its not really worth it to get the 4090 if i cant get a nice Monitor with it. The only option would be 1440p360hz but id rather get 4k 240hz tbh. But the Samsung is just so not anything i like. Curved, VA, 32Inch, QC issues, list goes on and on.

So im currently stuck with just not buying anything instead.

I mean that doesnt really sound like a problem?

Save yourself some money and game on?

The 4090 is a really bad value card no matter how you look at it anyway

well it wont get any better, it will get worse each generation, so i kinda gave up on "value" with hardware a long time ago.
Sometimes there is some nice deals like the 5800x3D f.e. But yea other than that..  everything just gets more expansive.

The other option would probably be 4080 + 1440p 240hz but i dont really see the benefit of 1440p because its just not much better than 1080p with sharpening filter.
You still see the freaking ugly "power lines" and weirdo textures in the background when scoping with a weapon.. without filters/AA.

Depends on the screen size.

27 inch? World of difference

24 inch nm changes

My last good deal was a bunch of new in box 3090's for 650 a piece from someone that could not figure out how to mine what so ever 😛

Actually there were a couple if I remember correctly but those havent been made for a while.

Kinda been established that the under 27 inch display market is 1080p land 99% of the time 😛

Kinda want as much PPI i can get. 27" for 4k would be sweet. If id go 1440p id probably use that strange 25" mode, have heard alot of good things about it.
But the boarder would most likely annoy me. I wish they would had made that Monitor Physically 25" with that resolution.

So at 27 its at 109ppi and at 25 its at 109 ppi.

I assumed as much its just linear scaling so euhh id ignore this feature it only gains you black borders and nothing else 😛

Still 109 ppi becomes retina for soneone with 20/20 vision when you sit 78cm away from the display.

Unless you are one of the lucky ones with such vision it seems 44cm is the average for pixels to become indistuingishable

while this might be true, its hard to believe that this applies to any modern videogame,
Usually the resolution of these games is nowhere near native, its a very weird gpu scaled blurry mess. (most often multiple times rescaled base textures)

Make sure internal rendering resolution is at 100%, post fx is lowered and fxaa isnt active

Also dont look at em on yt the difference is massive for clarity in game vs yt due to compression

yea thats clearly not the issue, games just look worse and worse over the years and its probably due to the way they get made.

alot more visual clutter, and really bad textures. Cant deal with it besides higher resolutions/renderes or sharpening filters+TSAA.
