Customs duties on used gear coming to Canada from US?

I was wondering if any Canadians here have ordered use hardware from the US and been charged customs duties. I know you usually have to pay duties for new stuff, but does that apply to used stuff, too? I would appreciate any insights.

System Specs: Second-class potato, slightly mouldy

I can only say that according to ebay, which often calculates that stuff for you ahead of time, the answer would appear to be yes.
