Why does my system not support "Modern Standby" ?

Go to solution Solved by DoctorNick,

@PDifolco聽Normally you can't have both S3 and S0 to be supported, as S0 is in fact not a sleep, but low power idle state, this post explains really well the whole thing:

I have an unsolvable issue with my Bluetooth drivers always failing to reconnect after system goes to sleep

It's not a big issue, yet I would prefer to solve it 馃檪

So I've read on MS support forums I would need some "Modern Standby" mode for that

But powercfg says my system聽 doesn't support it, why ? My system (see my sig) is fairly recent and postdates Win10, that I'm using...BIOS is previous latest version as well (2022)

Try replacing the OS.

Windows 11 has problems finding my laptops speakers, and running Microsoft's "Troubleshooting" always claim that I have no audio device attached.

Also in the few cases that it does work it manages to lose them even when being used. And I am running the latest BIOS and the latest update from both the manufacturer and Microsoft. The manufacturer themselves have no drivers for them as they depend on those from Microsoft.

I'm just 1 version late (f36a), don't think the latest one adresses that

What is really annoying is that I can't find any info about what and how this standby stuff is supported

Switching between S3 and Modern Standby cannot be done by changing a setting in the BIOS. Switching the power model is not supported in Windows without a complete OS re-install.
