Massive frame drops please help

Please someone help my pc is testing good in user benchmark and appears to be running well but yet im getting massive frame drops no matter what settings use in any game i already sent my pc to get fixed for this problem and they upgraded my gpu thinking it was the problem but even now that i got it back im still experiencing this problem gpu is a 3060.

Userbenchmark is not a Valid Benchmark. Do not use it. Generally frame drops are just game dependent. You are gonna have to say what games you are playing, if you say Fortnite or a battle royale type game just know that is pretty much normal, they have massive frames drops quite often. Other games however it may be a bigger issue like thermals and such.

I just got it back and ive got them on valorant and Fortnite and they are drastic drops and constant making games unplayable fps dropping down to 50 when starting to build or do quick turns and is there a better way to test you suggest ty so much for helping.

intel core i9400f

Nividia geforce rtx 3060

Asrock b365 phantom gaming 4

Teamgroup inc Teamgroup-ud4-3200 DDR4

1 Tb intel ssd

When you reply to posts in your own threads it is wise to either quote or mention the user you reply to so they get notifications. You can do like this @aDoomGuy.

 

Valorant, Fortnite, COD  etc are all not very well optimized and a lot of users are complaining about low FPS, stuttering, frame rate drops etc when playing these games. Have you monitored your temps though? Get MSI Afterburner and enable OSD to see temps while you game. Your CPU will throttle if it reach 100°C for example. So monitor that as well as your GPU temp for a bit in-game.

You do have dual channel memory right? Aka 2 ram sticks

I have it running in game and cpu is staying around 55°c and gpu is staying around 70°c

@DoctorNick my ram not running as good as it can tho and ive tried to go into bios and change it to 3200 but it wont let me do it caps at 2666 this my first pc apologize if i kinda sound clueless ty for the help.

There is a severe CPU bottleneck here. 6 cores, low clock, no hyperthreading.

possibly but befor they even upgraded it i had a 2060 in it and was doing what its doing now.

The 3060 isn't a lot stronger than a 2060 Super.

Have you reinstalled Nvidia drivers after getting the new card? Try doing a clean install - just choose custom, mark as clean install:

i did it and tried to run game and its still just constant drops even when im in the lobby in game its getting drops.

Alright. One last thing. Did you try running memory without XMP enabled in bios? Aka on stock speeds 2133? Might be an issue with memory stability. Just make sure voltage and frequency is running on auto and XMP is off

You have one ram stick in each channel right and not both in one channel? So, according to your manual you want one stick in A1, thats the one closet to the cpu, then skip the next slot, thats A2, then the next stick in the third slot, which would be B1 and the last slot,B2, empty. Thats how it should be setup for dual channel ram.

i changed it to 2133 in bios and it got alot worse but this is what it shows in my nzxt cam

Worse? ok, shouldn't be noticeable actually. I would try uninstalling CAM, because its the devils work..

it may have not been worse just turned it back and still really bad and i uninstalled cam im just so lost on what to do cause the gpu was just replaced wouldn't have to be the cpu or can anything else affect the fps/ frame drops

its hard to say.. You might get a little drops, but it sounds a lot worse than it should be. Personally I would reinstall windows and then install all drivers while being offline

Not just the CPU, the whole platform.

 

Try using InSpectre to disable Meltdown and Spectre patches to gain some CPU performance back, and try using CPUBalance to better schedule the CPU.
