New builder here

Im using the b650 Aorus ax elite and currently the board showed a DRAM light but everything is seated correctly although im going to try a single stick of ram in every slot to see if that changes anything. At one point i did get the light to go away and the boot light to come on which makes sense cuz i dont have an OS ready for it but in the BIOS everything showed perfectly. No issues in storage, cpu, ram, or gpu. Im just confused why the lights are showing and worried that ive done something wrong.

Thanks!

So is the light for DRAM on but it still shows the bios? It still shows it on the screen? If you can get it to post and show the bios settings it most likely just needs to be updated to the latest bios version. If it's not posting when the DRAM light is on I'd have to say most likely an issue with Ram incompatibility. If you can see the bios settings try updating the bios to the newest version and see if that fixes it. If not you may have to buy a different Ram kit.

Sorry i didnt quote/direct reply to this but the system posts to the bios and is now just showing a red light for the boot which would mean that it just doesnt have a boot drive connected to it. I think whatever it is must've worked itself out because i restarted the system multiple times and its worked fine same boot light going on.

Im a new builder so what is cmos and how would i clear it?

Glad to see your memory is detected and post is now complaining about no boot device (which is expected for you).

clearing cmos is referring to removing the cmos battery for ~30 seconds to clear bios. (the battery is how the bios chip remembers settings when the computer is powered off)

You can usually find the UEFI/BIOS version on the first page in advanced mode and somewhere at the top in basic mode.

new revisions are posted on the manufacturers support page for the product F3h is the most recent.

Well i have bad news, i put it all together after checking everything was correct in post and now it wont post. I checked every connection and its just not posting. I checked the cpu and pins and it didnt seem like there was any bent. I checked ram and it now still says that dram is an issue when it couldnt be because its compatible. The only avenue that i could go is bios because it was outdated but idk how to update it without posting.

Sorry if i sound cranky ive just worked really hard and im defeated currently.
