is every rtx laptop max q now or somthing?

hello im more of a desktop person. but resently i needed to get a laptop to use unreal 5 on the go, i did my research on laptops about max q and they use less power for more battery life and less heat.

but i want one that has 100% power limit and no restrictions even if i get a few hours. i am even thinking about replacing my desktop with has a 3060 12GB by msi...

is max q So good now that it doesn't matter anymore?

No, laptops give wildly varying amounts of performance, based on how much wattage the components are allotted by the manufacturer. I'd recommend you to look up reviews and see which laptops come close to their desktop counterparts if you need performance on the go.

Another option would be an ITX build, if you only need to move the computer between places that have a monitor and desk.

I will find your Laptop thread and I will recommend an ITX build instead

Max-Q/Max-P branding was simply abandoned, somewhat in favor of power target

https://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-RTX-30-Ampere-Mobile-will-no-longer-offer-Max-Q-or-Max-P-branding-OEMs-free-to-decide-TGP-and-Max-Q-features-to-implement.515922.0.html

As usual you need to read reviews for the products you're interested in.

I am looking at a laptop with 165w GPU total 190w what does that mean for a 3060 any good?

I need a laptop because it will be in the car.
