GPU Fan running at max speed

I was on my PC when suddenly my gpu fans started running at max speed, I was not doing anything intensive so I naturally checked gpu utilisation I then discovered that my gpu fan was apparently running at 0 rpm however I could audibly tell that was not the case this problem has occurred on another gpu that was in this system in the past however I just thought that the card was dead.  Does anyone know how to fix this issue thanks

What software are you using to check the GPU fan speed? Do you have any software that you're using to try to control the fan speed?

Thanks for the reply I was using hwinfo 64 but no worries as I have managed to figure out why it was running at max speed I just needed to clean out the pcie slot and then it worked fine
