I'm thinking of adding RAM. I currently have 2 x 16 GB ADATA sticks, I believe 3200 MTS, standard XMP profile If I add 2 more so all 4 slots are filled, it likely slows the clock speed depending on MB and other factors from what I understand. But, if I'm having issues from not having enough RAM with lots of programs running, RAM intensive applications, etc... it will still solve the issue of not having enough RAM for my applications, right? So maybe it slows the RAM some if full speed isn't supported with all 4 slots filled, but adding 32GB of additional RAM would more than compensate the slower speeds, no?

Or am I missing something?

If you need more ram, then do it. enough ram will be more beneficial than speed.

no, you won't notice the difference with 3200 vs 2666.

if you're lucky, your mobo + cpu can support 3200 in 4 slots.

just try it out.

Buy another 3200 pair, put it in and see if you could run them at 3200.

It takes a little bit of luck, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.

Worst case, just put drop the speed to 3000 or anything stable.

If you do need more RAM, RAM speed is less of a priority than RAM capacity.

4 chips can be hit/miss but with Intel and only running 3200 there is a good chance it will work.  I currently have 4x16GB running 3600 but this is the first AMD chip I've hat would run it at full speed.  I've ordered 2x32GB 6000C30 for the AM5 setup.  I need somewhere between 32-64GB but haven't seen any indication of needing to go higher than that tending to max out at about 45GB used.

When you say hit or miss, are we talking about having system issues or just with the potential speed it may provide?

Both.

Be sure to clear your CMOS before trying to run 4x sticks.
