Could have been some pressure that was built up over time. It may not be anything to worry about, but I would inspect everything before I power things on the next few days to make sure there are not leaks.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X   Motherboard: MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi   Case: Deepcool Maxtrexx 70   GPU: RTX 3090   RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3x16GB 3200 MHz   PSU: Super Flower 850W

The pc should shut its self off if the temps get to high due to aio failure, and you have checked for leaks and nothing so probably fine, I always test for leaks with toilet paper as it shows up very quickly if theres any liquid, just got to all the connections and touch paper to them, so there is only really 5 places on aio water should leak from, 2 tubes with 2 ends each so thats 4 places and the cpu block 5th place.

the sound was basically a pop and then like it sounded like a water splash but i looked around and everything seems okay

There are no gaurantees it will not leak, anything of this nature has that risk. If you are that worried then buy a new cooler, but if it was me and I could not find a leak then I would not be worried about, I would just monitor it for a few days see if a leak appears
