Its coming in the mail soon and I've been prepping my system for the upgrade, updated drivers, Bios etc... My only concern will be managing temps,105 watt VS my current 65 watt, so until I update my cooler I have done some reading on the topic but wondering if anyone in this community has this chip and maybe some suggestions not available in general google search?

Ryzen 5800X3D(Because who doesn't like a phat stack of cache?) GPU - 7700Xt

                                                           X470 Strix f gaming, 32GB Corsair vengeance, WD Blue 500GB NVME-WD Blue2TB HDD, 700watts EVGA Br

~Extra L3 cache is exciting, every time you load up a new game or program you never know what your going to get, will it perform like a 5700x or are we beating the 14900k today? 😅~

What is your current cooler? And what case do you have? I'd recommend a tower air cooler, but if you have small case, that changes things.

DVD-RW drive? Love it. You just need 3 more HDDs to rip some movies!

Honestly, that ol' hyper 212 will certainly be good enough to get you started. I'd just keep it for the time being, and once you get your 5800x3d, do some stress testing to see if it is still capable enough. If you find it isn't, then go shopping for a new cooler.

Definitely think it'll manage but I'm sure it'll be pushing the limit of what the 212 is capable of

I don't disagree. But no sense spending money on something else when it might do just dandy. For science!

In the January Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs should be announced/released. Just for info. I do reqalize they'd need a new mb and RAM.

mmm not ready for a new platform, or to choose between red or blue, prefer to skip this generation wait and see what am6 and the intel equivalent look like, so I'm maxing out my X470 until then
