Assembled my tower, monitor shows no input

Gmotyl

Hello, I recently built my PC (Ryzen 5 4500, ASRock b450m-HDV r4.0 board, and a GTX 1050 ti). I try to access the BIOS and after mashing the delete button for a while, it just shows no input. I have tried swapping out the HDMI cord from the motherboard to the GPU. I have double and triple check my cables and my keyboard will also not power on. I am wondering what the problem would be. Thank you in advance.

edit: it could also be a problem of hitting the wrong button, only the caps button and WIN button are illuminated.

That CPU might require a BIOS update for that motherboard. B450 boards were updated to support Zen2 3xxx CPUs. Zen2+ APU/APU derived chips and newer Zen3 CPUs are not plug and play compatible.

Does anything appear on the monitor before you do this? Like the ASRock logo maybe? Or does the display remain blank the whole time?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

It says No HDMI input for a few seconds, and then says going into standby mode, no logos of any kind besides dell (brand of monitor)

Thanks, that is one of the things I saw but I dont know how I would update it, I do not have any other CPU's on hand and there does not appear to be any BIOS flashback button

You'll need a compatible CPU to flash your board. I recommend looking for one supported by "ALL" BIOS revisions on the compatibility list, since you don't know which version is currently on there.

https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/index.asp#CPU

You could also see if there's a local PC shop in your area that can flash the BIOS for you, or lend you a first gen Ryzen.

If you bought your motherboard and CPU new, you can request a loaner CPU from AMD under warranty. (At least I think they still offer this service.)

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
