Hi Guys ,

I am new at this comunity but not new in computer hardware and software.

I have strange problem with  them, all of them are brand new and all of them are spining fan but no displaying anything . I was checking all voltages , everything is fine but no picture on any port.

I susspect on bios but maybe here someone has more expirience with this issue . Also to mention that I have tried on both bios on all cards same problem. I do have programer for bios so I can reprogram but maybe someone has other solution , or had this problem and knows how to fix it. They are not  in warranty anymore so returning to store is not possible.

Any help is very appreciated

Thank You guys

If none of the cards work, your issue is probably with the cpu or motherboard or your psu is not powerful enough. I doubt all of the cards would be defective, however that is a possbility if they were connected to the same computer previously.

My testbench specs are :

Motherboard : B450MH Ver 6

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

RAM: 16GB Corsair 2x8Gb at 3200MHz

PSU : CoolerMaster MWE 750 BRONZE V2

Are you using any adapters from your variable PSU or are you powering these graphics cards with only the CoolerMaster? Your display is plugged into the graphics card and not the motherboard right? (have to ask)

Are you able to upload a picture of one of them on your test bench so we can see how everything is hooked up?

I also have my old pc running that same XFX RX 580 8Gb Black edition card in :

CPU : AMD FX 6300 black edition

RAM: 16 GB Fury red 4x4GB

PSU : 700W CoolerMaster MWE700 White

SSD: 240Gb Samsung Evo

Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX PRO

And it works just fine in this configuration.

I am using just my PSU , and tried to use Display ports and DVI ports on my graphics card , nothing happens . Card is running , the fans spin for 1 minute and then stops but card is running still, I have 900mV on Display rail ,also have correct voltage on GPU side but no picture, enable is ok , all voltage rails are ok , all memory is ok, just no displaying anything on output.

Does your test bench work with other graphics cards? My first instinct is that these cards work in your other computer so there's nothing wrong with them, but you have a 5600x on a B450 motherboard.

Did you update the BIOS of that motherboard to support the 5600x?

I asume that maybe someone played with bios and bricked the card. I do have a CH341A programer so I can try to reflash it but just need advice if someone had this issue

The bios was updated so it should work , I tryed with some card which has some other problem (vram bank) , has corrupted screen image 2 lines , same XFX RX580 8Gb and it works , displays the picture on all outputs , so this all cards should work fine in point of compatibility .

Copy.

Check your linear converters as well. Also, some XFX 580 cards had issues with ground channeling. With the card plugged in, check to make sure you don't have voltage on any of your grounds.

Voltages coming off the PCIE slot, 5v readings, 1.8v, display rail voltage, MVDD, VDDCI and your core voltages if you can. And resistances for 1.8, 3.3, 12v and display. They'd require the cooler coming off though.

I'm at work(my normal job) so I don't have access to my boardviewer schematics, but IIRC there's also some issues with the U100 ICs they were using. It's a 6 prong gate.

This is what I was able to get from image searches.

If for some reason board viewer files are needed, I can see if my fiancee can jump on my computer and get them sent to me.

I would have returned these a year ago if they were brand new btw.

I would also returned them if they were at my place 🙂

but these cards are from my friend who gave this to me couple of days ago. If I knew this before it would be different. But they are gift , this is just part of them , there is 26 cards same with same problem and one XFX RX580 FatBoy with vram problem. I would like to repair them, at least to try to fix them. Not a crypto miner just enthusiast . Don't want to sell them either rather to give them as a gift to someone in Serbia who needs and can't afford to buy any. Also maybe to build some pc because I have more than 30 different PC which are repaired and mainly don't have graphics cards. So this is like humanitarian repair no charge at all . I am expirienced with electronics but actualy never repaired graphics cards before.

So I'm not sure if I've got the XFX 580 diagram in this. My folder names got entirely borked on me. I know it's one of these, but I can't remember for sure which it is.

However, I think this one is the XFX 580. It looks very close. Looks like I'm stuck going through and renaming files when I get home..

Were the cards detected by Windows or no? That'll change what we start chasing down. If they weren't detected, what are your power readings on both sides of these chips?

Spoiler

That's the start of your display rail. If you have a converter not working right, the rail won't kick on and the card will be undetected/no video out.

I have voltage on the display, on VDDCI on VRam contoler also on gpu side but no display output, I will try with Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard, Ryzen 7 cpu and here it has 2 slots for gpu so i can try to see if it is detected.
