Is windows 11 still having issues with RYZEN CPU's?

Sacro

I remember a while ago Windows 11 was having all sorts of dramas with AMD cpus. Is this still going on?

Asking because this morning when I turned my PC on it went straight to some upgrade to Win11 stuff that had deceptively placed buttons for sticking with windows 10.

Is it time to upgrade, is there any performance benefit to upgrading? Or should I stick to Win10.

My system has a 5900x, 3080RTX, 32GB of 3600MHz ram.

Dont really see why sidegrade to w11, as for changes just look around on yt, mostly ppl complaining since now you are forced to make an ms account along with bullshit such as "simplified" unusable context menu or whatever its called (that menu that pops up when you right click) and other stupid crap though ryzen issues should be solved by now

I prefer to just avoid w11 and just run w10 ltsc instead with no bloat and 2028 support if that even matters at all

no issue here.

upgraded to W11 when I was still using R5 2600 and had no problems at all.

I just upgraded my CPU to an R5 5600 and still no problem.

Windows 11 is not as bad as people say it is.

there are just some(maybe  a lot) basic function that should not have been removed or changed.

such as "Don't hide task bar icons" (icons at the bottom right) does not work anymore.

(I like to see all the task bar icon so I know what's running)

I upgraded since the first week it was released from Windows 10 on my 3550H laptop, it had quite a few hiccups, but many of them have been fixed since the 22h2 update. You can sidestep the Windows 11 requirement for a Microsoft account by hitting Shift+F10 to open the terminal and then typing in "oobe\bypassnro" into the console. This will restart the process, but this time showing a skip button. I suggest unplugging your ethernet cable while this is happening. I then suggest going through settings and cleaning out any applications you don't want, you'll have to do it again right after you connect to wifi, but then you should have a mostly bloat-free experience with Windows 11 and in my experience, gaining roughly 5-10% performance versus a bloated install of Windows 11 and a 1-2% in-game fps boost on my laptop going from Windows 10 to 11 (Many say there is no difference, however considering I went from 35 to 38 fps average, I consider it a bonus). There's not a very big performance gain on my 7900X desktop system between the 2 operating systems considering the more powerful hardware however.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have upgraded my 5950x system from windows 10 to 11 multiple times. Always have issues for me. First was TPM 2.0 stuttering(fixed now) and now I have noticeable performance issues in windows where mouse just randomly freezes for a 3 to 5 seconds every other day. I have had issues with UI features like task manager behavior. I have had issues with windows explorer behaving oddly. Like unzip folder using 7-zip and it shows up at bottom of list regardless of files/folder structure. Or just does not appear until you change directories and then back to see listing. There are tons of little issues that do not are deal breakers. Just so many and so frequent that I find it hard to not go back to windows 10. The main issue I have with it is the fps loss in some games. I upgraded this time because I needed linux subsystem with working GUI to work and windows 10 is super annoying to have linux working with a GUI. It was for testing linux app that I did not want to use in vmware. I am also hopelessly optimistic that MS might get windows 11 to a usable working state.
