Cpu pin stuck in motherboard

Alan GE

Hello.

I removed my cpu from the mother b貌ard to install a new one .

I noticed that a pin is stuck in one of the socket's holes.

no force is used to remove the cpu.

So can this聽 motherboard聽 be fixed or should i buy a new one?馃樋

Help 馃槙

Very occasionally one can break an electrical connection like that which is a duplicate ground or something and the chip will still boot even if it will have wonky behavior in some situations. 聽Most of the time it just fails though. 聽I鈥檓 thinking this has to be a ryzen pga, in which case you should be able to take some tweezers and after putting on an anti static strap you can simply remove the pin from the hole. 聽There鈥檚 a decent chance it was just badly soldered and simply came off. It is not completely impossible to solder the pin back onto the cpu (depending on the shape the pin is in) but it鈥檚 not an easy job either.

Not a pro, not even very good. 聽I鈥檓 just old and have time currently. 聽Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
