Is this price for a RTX 3080 worth it?

Saw this on Newegg and I'm in need of a new GPU. Have never heard of Yeston though.

$769 with $40 gift card.

Haha seems a Sakura anime theme Asian model, Yeston sells in China only usually

But price is good and a 3080 is a 3080...plus it's rare and original 🙂

Not bad, but if it's for gaming I would wait for a 7900 XT(X) releasing tomorrow if you can spend a little extra. Or you can get a 6900 XT which is cheaper and faster.

It does look awesome, so there's that. Presumably they'll be using a reference PCB, so the power circuitry should cut the mustard at the very least.

You're probably playing russian roulette when it comes to warranty support though, so just pray that things don't go wrong (or that Newegg/Nvidia will handle the issue for you).

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

I thought Nvidia had good customer support, since they charge for their cards so much..

Typically the add-in board partner (in this case Yeston) handles any in-warranty problems that Newegg wouldn't (such as a GPU being DOA).

so Yeston has a sketchy reputation?

Not what I'm saying. Some AIBs have become legendary for good customer support (EVGA is one example). Others are known for offering poorer support (MSI and Zotac aren't particularly well-loved, last I checked).

Frankly, Yeston could have the best support out there, I don't know. But they're a company that mainly caters to the chinese market, with little to no presence in western markets. If OP had any issue that required shipping their card to Yeston, he may find him/herself having to ship their card to China, waiting weeks for a replacement. To be frank, the odds of encountering bad customer support are higher than they would be for an XFX or an ASUS.

Not picking on Yeston here, but good customer support generally requires decent market penetration on the side of the company doing it.

Thanks guys. I feel like I can pull the trigger then, it seems like a decent card with good reviews.

I’ve been borrowing my friend’s 3070 for a while now so I definitely need to get it back to him.

Good luck. That card is 3 strikes. Nvidia, Yeston, Newegg. If anything goes wrong, I'm confident none of them has got your back

On second thought, I’ve been hearing a lot of temperature issues with the card. Like it gets to 80C in some games and it’s pretty loud going off reviews.

I’m not so sure anymore. I definitely want to go the Nvidia route but don’t want a toasty/loud card.
