OneXplayer Config (i7-1165G7 Specific):
Disabled Wallpaper slideshows

Do not use Overlays. Turn off hw acceleration in Discord and overlays.

Disable your iGPU when connected to your EGPU. @ciphray.bat has a nice script available that does this automatically.

Configure your TDP. Have my Onexplayer running 40w TDP while docked.

Set max performance in your Power Options

Disable the High precision event timer driver in Device Manager under System Devices
CMD Commands
Run these commands in an admin prompt to help improve performance
bcdedit /set useplatformclock no

bcdedit /set useplatformtick yes

bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes
BIOS
These settings in the bios will help improve performance of your EGPU

Summary:

I've been working on my setup on and off over the last year or so. Haven't had time to sit down until recently. Stoked to share what I put together. Moved through a few ThunderBolt 3 laptops. First, being a 2015 13" Macbook Pro, then I bought a 2019 16" Macbook Pro, and now this OneXPlayer. I still have the 2019 MacBook Pro, but I opted to splurge on the OneXPlayer after encountering too many issues with bootcamp eGPU. (I don't like to have to open and close the laptop repeatedly just to get a cable to connect lol.)

This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for in terms of a gaming setup. The only gripe I really have is the fact that I didn't opt for higher refresh rate monitors. Might swap these out eventually, but for now they play games great
