what the HELL happened to my usb???

DietzDiet
Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

it's because windows doesnt want to make a FAT32 partition bigger than 32GB, so it's only formatted half of the USB drive.

honestly it's a pain in the butt to fix on windows, because disk manager doesnt always want to remove the partition off a usb drive.

Alr listen im not rlly used to installing windows and crap onto a usb and i tried to do that tdy with my 64gb cruzer blade usb and i changed my mind and i wanna install linux on it but when i checked it it says it only has 32 GIGABYTES of space on it max and its name and logo changed?? did i break it or smth
edit: rufus says it has 64 gigs

just go to disk management, delete the partition and create a new one with correct format. Otherwise if you still want to install a linux distro just format with Rufus as usual

then you'll see that the 64GB usb drive only has half of it allocated to a partition, and either expand the partition or delete and re-add.

ESD-USB i assume, down below you'll see it has a 32GB partition, but it should have a 32GB unallocated space behind it. delete the partition, and add a new one.

but as i said before, windows doesnt like to do that for a lot of USB  drives.
