Comcast data usage resets every month on the first.  The data caps are 300GB/Month (in select areas) or 250GB/Month (everywhere else) and are not enforced at this time.  To my knowledge of course, unless they changed it and didn't send out an update about it.

They enforce it. Or at least in my area(Which doesn't make much since, since I'm no where near a major city so its not like their getting a lot of usage in my area). I've gone over my 300gb limit 2 times and once they charged me. They give you 3 times to go over before they start charging you. But the cap also changes with the speed plan. I don't know about below 25mbit download but 25down is 300gbs and 50 down is 400gbs.

Odd, official comcast documentation lists the caps at 250GB for everywhere not on the "new" data cap plan, which bumps everyone up to 300GB.  Again, they could have changed it, but the official documentation hasn't been changed since I last saw it (maybe a week and a half ago).

Took a look and it seems they have changed it, for the test market areas.

If you don't live in those areas (and by "area" I don't mean city limits, it's more like the whole county), I'd be curious why you'd get stuck with an overage bill (the 10$ for an extra 50GB).

For reference the affected areas by the data caps are: Huntsville and Mobile, AL; Atlanta, Augusta and Savannah, GA; Central Kentucky; Maine; Jackson, MS; Knoxville and Memphis, TN; and Charleston, SC.

Another note, based on the information listed, the only 50Mbps one that gets 450GB is Extreme 50 (which doesn't make any sense, since there's only 2 "extreme" speeds listed in the speed tier docs, 105 and 505), while Blast! (50/10) gets 350GB.

Also: http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/internet/data-usage-exceeding-the-allowance indicates that as of May 17, 2012 they suspended the enforcement of the data caps.

As far as the 50/10 data cap goes an employee told me they would give me a 400gb cap. So I upgraded about 2weeks ago to it and have had problems with them changing my data cap. It still says 300gbs. I called and they said to wait to the 15th when my bill resets. So I'm waiting to see if it will change to 400gbs. I've talked to 5 employees about it and none of them have said anything about not having a 400gb cap for my speed plan. Oh and I don't live in any of those city's or county's. But I'm about 3 counties over from one of those cities.

Wow - up here various plans have various caps, at least with Rogers. Anywhere from 100GB to 2TB (for the 350Mb service). They used to charge from $1 to $1.50 (depending on plan) per GB over to a max of $50. Then they got approval from the CRTC to up that to a monthly limit of $100 - so I could burn 4TB in a month, just have to pay the $100 charge. Now though Rogers offers unlimited bandwidth option for any plan, for only $30 a month Yeehaw! :D

I average 2TB to 3TB a month of data transfer...

It is strange that they say 400GB and not 350 or 450, which are the two listed.  Being a few counties over might be close enough for Comcast to consider it the "area", I'm also surprised you got a straight answer out of 5 different employees, happen to know which depts you were speaking with?
