I was planning on getting an 13600k with 2x16GB of DDR4 (3200) memory.

But there is now a deal on the 7600x, making it €100 cheaper than the 13600k...

Of course I need to got with DDR5 memory in that case, but there's also a deal on some 2x16GB DDR5 (4800) for only €10 more than this DDR4 memory.

Don't know which exact motherboard. but will be in the same price range. (€250-€300 I support).

(maybe 1700: ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 / AM5: ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS)

I don't plan on overclocking.

I mainly game, but also do quite some Photoshop, AfterEffect and PremierePro.

So yeah, I'm pretty confused on what to do now.

Would like to cut the price as much as possible, it seems like the 13600k is quite a bit better in productivity.

Thanks in advance.

Even at same platform cost the 7600X is still not as good as the 13600K...

Advantage is that you'd get DDR5 and upgrability tho, hard call

I'd go 13600k with good ddr4, if cost is factoring in.  I assume it is or you'd be looking at 7900x for productivity.

Gaming on a 7600x with jdec speed ddr5 will be the same as gaming on a 13600k with ddr4 as Ryzen is only really doing great with a 6000mt kit

also since your doing some productivity work the 13600k slaps the 7700x into the ground let alone the 7600x

so definatly 13600k

i currently got one with 3200mt ram aswel and it’s awesome 🙂

Man i'm so happy i don't have to make this choice because it's so F-ed up right now. On one hand you have the first gen of a new platform vs probably the last gen of an old one. Not only you have to consider if you want to keep your options for the future open or close the money in a dead-end tech, but price-wise the choice is so different from country to country. Here for example the 7600X goes on average €120 CHEAPER than the 13600k. Not only that, but DDR5 memory and AM5 mobos are the same price as DDR4 and LGA1700 mobos. And it;s even more F-ed because almost all review are from The States, Canada or Australia where the prices are the exact opposite of here. Intel there is the CHEAPER option while AMD is the more expensive one and this is bizarre AF. I really don't understand why we got this weird price difference over the last 2 years.

| 4x16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo 4000MHz CL16 | Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT | Seasonic Focus GX-1000|

| 512GB A-Data XPG Spectrix S40G RGB | 2TB A-Data SX8200 Pro| Phanteks Eclipse G500A |

One thing to consider is intel have confirmed a refresh of 13th gen for next year so basically another gen on this socket, so 13600k at 5.1ghz now does have a upgrade path to something like a 13950k or whatever there going to call it with a clock speed increase to Maby 5.8 all core so there is a upgrade path on this platform in the future to a 32 thread monster
