So I recently added 16gb of ram to my pc, they are same stick different version, Corsair Vengeance Pro(old) + Corsair Vengeance Pro SL(new).

So after adding the ram I experienced a immediate game crash on start up(PUBG) followed up by the game getting stuck in a update/verifying loop and I could not update the game, this loop also effected another game(ATS). In the process to troubleshoot I verified game files, cleared download cache and repaired the install folder. This did not fix the issue until I removed the new ram and the updates went through without issue. Now that I removed the new pair and placed the old pair in slots 2,4 to see if it was a slot issue but my pc booted without issues and was still able to update games, I then tried this with the new ram on their own and had no issues. I now have all 4 back in and ran some benchmarks and had no crashes, but I played PUBG for about 5 minutes and experience a crash and haven't tried again. I tried ATS and that worked, no other games tried yet.

Some other issues I experience have been 2 windows(11) crashes, google has froze up a few times, and some other random app crashes.

Any questions I can answer.

Zen 2 is somewhat picky with memory and four sticks is harder for the CPU's memory controller to run. Mixing memory, especially with four sticks can lead to issues. Even if the sticks are technically the same, if they're not part of a set they can have manufacturing differences (e.g. different ICs, dual rank vs single rank) that can lead to issues. If you have XMP enabled, try with XMP. If that works, try with a slightly higher speed.

The sticks are still returnable, should swap to a 2x16gb/4x8gb set? I haven't ran into any issues since, though that doesn't mean I wont. Also I have it set to XMP(it was already there) as I'm not familiar with ram OC.

I'd go for 2x16, better chance of XMP (which is an overclock, just an automatic one) working as intended, compared to four sticks

With the 4x stick installed, do you have XMP / DOCP enabled or disabled?

I agree with @Eigenvektorand suspecting IMC related.

XMP is enabled all 4 sticks are on 3200. My issues seem to be random, like discord crashing on start up and needing a reboot to fix(this wasn't an issue prior)(Also shutting down windows to reboot gave me a blue screen).

I think I will just follow @Eigenvektor opinion and get a 2x16gb kit and return the 16gb kit. filling 4 slots is cool to look at but these issues are not worth it. I have seen 4x8gb kits but they cost quite a bit more the a 2x16gb kit does.
