Ghosts in the Machine: A Lutris Story.

So I have this DVD-Copy of Anno 1800 on my drive.

I installed it via lutris, fortunately there is a script for that, started it, worked!

 

Half a year later, it stopped working. It opened, black screen, close.

I quit playing for a while until I decided to give it another go.
I installed it again and it worked, until I rebooted the PC, same error again.
Sooo, I thought, delete and reinstall it: Worked again!

 

I copied the fresh prefix; reboot, didn't work again, deleted the standard prefix and wrote my copy: works!

 

Now, I have no idea why that's the case  I even tried "rsync -Pac /path/to/copy /path/to/prefix", assuming this would make those two exactly the same without having to write too much.
Didn't work, added --delete, didn't work either.

 

Sooooo.... How do I find out what's going on here?
