Fair enough.

Do you mind pointing out which KVM model from that list you are using?

Thanks!

i'm using 1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Dual Monitor - Two Computer as I have PC and MacBook and 2 external screens, but for your case 1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Single Monitor - Two Computer is enough

I’ve got a full system Windows PC and Hackintosh dual-built into an Obsidian 1000D  case. They are essentially 2 separate machines, which I will only ever use one at a time. There will never be a 3rd machine.

I’ve got:

  • 1x 4K Monitor
  • 1x USB Hub - mouse, keyboard, gaming controller
  • 1x USB Hub - Logitech G560, microphone, webcam

I’m assuming there must be a range of quality differences between different KVM switches.

All my used IOs on both machines are USB3.2 Gen 2.

Is there a way to conveniently switch between the 2 machines without losing too much picture quality, audio quality, transfer speed?

I’m new to KVMs.

Thanks in advance!

if 4k 60+hz is important then i'd recommend https://store.level1techs.com/?category=Hardware Level1Techs kvm switch, i'm using dual monitors dual pc (display port version) and it works like a charm

Holy crap they’re expensive! How much worse would the cheaper versions be?

I probably have my budget sitting at AUD$200 or under because anymore than that, it would probably cost as much as my peripherals!

Dunno, i needed it to run 4k 60hz minimum, and most of cheaper ones does only 30hz on 4k, does not have usb3 or display port and most of the reviews are negative
