So my current rig is a 3070 and a Ryzen 9 3950x. I’m wondering if I should sell my current cpu for a 5950x. I initially bought the 3950x for 700 (+70 tax) and now it’s currently selling for 500$ and so is the 5950x. With that said I’m not sure if anyone will buy a 500$ 3950x. The best situation would be me selling it for 500 and buying a 5950x for 500. Any suggestions?

Why do you want to buy CPU that is only 0,2Ghz faster than your current one?

Edit: for Zen 3 instead of Zen 2 architecture?

Zen 3 is vastly better than zen 2. That would be the biggest reason

So you're doing some CPU intense work?

GHz doesn't matter. In reality it will be about 15-20% faster depending on what they do.

I'd probably attempt to sell your current chip and go from there, though I'd be expecting closer to $300-400 than the $500 you're seeing (given that $300 is what 5900Xs, the CPU with roughly the same multi core performance, is going for near me), but I'm also seeing 5950Xs go for $400 so take that for what you will.
