Hey Guys!  :D

So I'm looking to buy a tablet for school work and personal use ^_^  and my instant choice is the 32GB nexus 7. (many reasons...)

But than I thought, well it's been a while since the Nexus 7 came out (the 2013) and well I don't wanna buy and ''old'' product if the new one is about to come out. So does anybody know when the nexus 7 is coming out? I would really like to have a tablet now (personal use) but I could wait till the new school year starts (september).

So what should I do? Thank you for all your help!

What kind of school work, I find doing work on a nexus impossible without a physical keyboard.

i love my iPad, to the point where I go nuts when I misplace it. With a bluetooth keyboard I can type up my notes and what not...but not having a mouse is a big drawback. I've seen people record lectures with it as well. It's a pretty good all around tablet, but  there's some definite hoops you have to jump through when using it. I wouldn't exactly consider the iPad to be a productivity powerhouse.

With that said...if I were to get a tablet specifically for doing schoolwork on, I'd probably get the new surface 2. One of the kids in my class has one, and it functions as a laptop. He connected a mouse to it and was coding on it and browsing the web.

seems to me about as close to the real thing you can get

Ye, I would love an ipad, but it's not in my budget area ;D And as far as anything else, I don't really need something so major as the surface ;)

The nexus 7 with cyanogen mod looks appealing

I've used one before, just yesterday actually. It was quick and snappy, everything I'd expect from a tablet, but it just felt so damn tiny. I couldn't imagine being productive on it, the 9.7" display on my ipad has me spoiled. The display is 4.3" tall in landscape, compared to the 5.3" on the iPad mini, or 6.6" on the iPad air. For me the ipad mini would be my smallest acceptable size...all preference though

Go to best buy and play with the tablets and see what physical size you prefer. I wouldn't worry about pixels and dpi too much. The 12800x800 on the nexus looked fine to me, and the newest has a 1080p display, so it's only gotten better.
