Are HP motherboards backwars compatible

A friend of mine has an "HP TG01-2816nd" prebuilt and we suspect that his cpu is broken

this cpu is a ryzen 5 5600G, but i have a ryzen 5 3600 laying around.
Now the question, would the BIOS and (custom) B550 motherboard from HP (Those fuckers cant use regular parts) be backwards compatible to use the 3rd gen ryzen?

Probably. I put a 2200G in an HP unit that originally had a 3700X, hasn't exploded yet.
