PS4 with no output

Go to solution Solved by Gamer Schnitzel,

I fixed it by using another HDMI cable. I was using the HDMI cable that came with my Nintendo Switch but when I switched to another random one it worked again. Maybe there is a HDMI cable requirement or they intentionally make it not work if you use stuff that comes from a competing console manufacturer?

I tried booting up my old PS4 today but I did not get any visual output. I tried other cables but it did not make a difference. I'm not sure why it would suddenly stop working and it is outside the warranty. Sony expects me to pay them £179 for a new console in return for mine.

The light on the console is blue.

Is there anything I can do to fix it myself?

I cannot boot into safe mode either since there is no output at all.

Apparently Sony knows about it already.

If this is the same issue as it's described, it doesn't look like there is much more you could do you haven't already done yourself.

Either due to how the pins are setup/arrainged in the port or it was just a bad cable. I've noted some cables have more pins than others such as a cable that's "For" 4K, ran into that getting some HDMI cables myself.

At least it's working again, that's what matters.
