I need a dim LED I can have at home connected to wifi & use my phone to turn it on/off (Smart home device won't work. Needs to be on table/moveable)

It's for a joke but will actually be used. I need to make 2 of them. Whatever the device is an LED light will be attached to it. I need to be able to have it connected to wifi and remotely I can just hit a button and it will turn the light on. Hit again and it goes off. That simple. Linus made a video a while back with a little card that opens and closes garage doors. My buddy actually uses one. I tried looking but I just don't know how that works. Does that device just send a signal or can it act as an on and off switch. Can't wrap my head around that. If it did act as an  on and off them how do I give power to the LED? I feel like there is a very simple answer to this.

Don't need a tutorial. If I can get device names and what I need I should be able to figure it out. Smart home devices would work but wiring a lightbulb with loose live wires running on a table is too crazy. Just want a low power dim LED.

Any info would be appreciated.

If I understood you correctly you want the LED to be battery powered (not a regular light bulb that you screw into a light socket which is connected to mains),
you also want to control the said LED light with your phone?

There is probably hundred different ready made products out there, no need to "make" it yourself.

- Does it have to be smartphone controlled? It will be cheaper if "regular" (433Mhz or IR or whatever) remote is used.
Anyhow, something like these:
1) Regular remote, 3 x AAA battery (not included), looks like a puck, 4.5$

2) Regular remote, rechargeable battery, candle imitation, 10$

3) Smartphone controlled, rechargeable lithium battery, can change colors, looks like a cylinder or a cube, 24$

4) Smartphone controlled, rechargeable lithium battery, can change colors, looks like a tilted bowl, 32$

If you really want to make something yourself let me know, but keep in mind you won't save a whole lot of money and you will have to invest some time.

A Shelly relay will do it. The Shelly 1 or 1 plus have dry contacts so you can switch low voltage loads. They are cheap too.
