Do you know Java well?

NullAmbitions

I'm curious about who knows Java well. I'm currently writing a program in Java and I thought, maybe someone here would also know Java!

So do you know Java? If so, do you program for money? And how so! I can't find many Java developers...

I would call myself fluent in Java. What are you working on? Share the source code so we can give you some constructive criticism if you want :P

This is a closed source thing I'm working on. I was thinking of writing a MC mod to add voice chatting though :P

I'm pretty decent as a second year undergrad who has been using it for 4 years. Asking this question is a bit odd though, knowing a programming language suffers from the problem that the more you know about the language the more you find out that you don't know.

I recently made the mistake of extending thread instead of implementing runnable. That was 4 hours of pointless debugging...

I know how to use ArrayList and others, I just messed up with threading :P It was a one time thing...

As for money, I'd rather do projects for people.

I'm a private tutor and i also do private projects using different languages including Java.

The only thing that may be bad on my part is that I undercharge, mainly because I love coding lol

I "know" Java... but I haven't used it since University. Not a big fan of Java, though I certainly appreciate the easy portability...

Not strictly true, you can use the NDK to write (at least part of your app) in C/C++ and compile down to machine code... that's how many games manage to get sufficient performance.
