cheapest decent 4k screen

so i got a new pc, with a 3070ti, and i think my old 1080p display just would just not cut it,So i was wandering the cheapest 4k decent screen (like 23'-27' 60Hz with decent colors) that i could get, or just send me to another similar topic if it exists.

Any reason why you want so many pixels on a small screen and not higher refresh rate?

 

Plenty great 1440p 27inch screens out there with 144hz or higher.

 

4k is a very small niche and not worth it in smaller displays.

I would get a 27” 1440p 120-144hz screen.

For screen size 23 to 27". I would get at least 144hz and above in 1440p resolution monitor. Also RTX 3070i is not powerful enough for 4K gaming.

Depending on what you do, it is absolutely worth it, especially if you want/need to see sharp fonts.

A gigabyte g27q or m27q are good options

It is not as even 3080 also not. It is not powerful enough for heavy games, for example Cyber Punk or Watch Dogs Legend.

 

Even 3090 is only kind of ok. Now the 4090 is a pure 4K gaming GPU. Probably 4080 also ok.

Even 3090 is only kind of ok. Now the 4090 is a pure 4K gaming GPU. Probably 4080 also ok.

It's totally does for 60 fps though, or without RT 

 

3070 and above is totally a 4k card, not all bell and whistle 4k but it can run any game decently with some graphic optimisation (after all 2080ti is pretty much a 4k card)

 

It's more accurate to say 3080 (and AMD equivalent) is 4k medium refresh rate card (60-120fps), 3070ti and below 4k normal refresh rate card (60 fps)

 

Anything below that could probably be say as not a true 4k as you need almost medium setting in a lot of game just to get 60

Most games yes but those freaking nice looking games is not. For example Cyber Punk and Watch Dogs Legend.

 

Set lower than maximum quality is not optimize the games but reduce the games suppose look. You can reduce the AA or even turn off but if the reduce impact the image look then it is not right and you can't said it is capable anymore.

 

I did not ask for 120fps or even 60fps but at least give me not lower than 40fps, but it happened 13fps and 1% 26fps for Watch Dogs Legend. 

Cyber Punk is even worst, they is few options I cannot set maximum as it will make the games totally unplayable.

 

3080 already cannot manage less than 4k games like Cyber Punk and Watch Dogs Legend. They is already 2 games in my games collection, in this case 3080 already not a 4k gaming GPU and also any model below it.

 

I am running it with my monitor (5120x1440) which is closed to 4k total pixels (7.2MP) but still less than 4k total pixels (8.3MP) using latest final 22H2 Windows 11 which is build 22621.674. (The games cannot differentiate it is Windows 11 but wrongly label as Windows 10 but the build is correctly detected).

 

Also as you can seen in 5120x1440 resolution this Watch Dogs Legend already eat up to 9.91 GB VRAM. How about in 4k.

Beside this the GPU load is 100%, which part this games is capable in 4k using 3080. None.

Hmn that sort of wierd, I've never had any problem with Watch Dog on my 3080 and 4k monitor, it run well over 70 fps in game actually (also keep in mind that benchmark's not necessarily a representative of your in-game performance) 

 

Granted, I run it at high but it's pointless to run game at Ultra in most case anyway. Cyberpunk form me is the only title I've had some issue with

It is playable but they happened slightly pause sometimes, you see I can also hit up to 84fps but it will occasionally lower to too low sometimes. To me 3080 is not good enough for 4k gaming and more games will facing issue in coming I believe.

So guys i marked the first to have said a 1440p monitor, but thx to all bc honestly if it was just one dude i would doubt, but  i am going to get a 1440 p 60hz in the next 3 months i think, i will give you news if you want

60hz? 3070Ti can anytime hit more than 60fps in 1440p and due to the monitor is only 60hz, tearing will occurred when fps is over 60.

V-sync added a lot delay. Most people will not use it. That why 144hz is famous as to hit over 144fps is not that easier. 

 

Off course you can limit games fps to 59.

 

Actually 144hz also added smoothness to Windows animation and it is noticeable. I can't use any monitor that is not at least 100hz anymore as the feeling is totally different even on Windows productivity usage.
