Who wants a challange? (Line smart camera)

So this is definitely still tech but well off topic to normal stuff for here. I have a machine that uses a camera and air jets to sort fruit by color, actually I have 2 both with different purposes. The old one stopped working and needed a software upgrade as well as an OS upgrade. Old software started working on the new OS which was odd but great. In order to make the new software work the main camera which also controlls the air jets needs a firmware upgrade. 

 

You can see whare this is going....firmware upgrade failed and now I'm stuck with a device that will connect to the computer but not function on either software. So I have no Idea if anyone here has any experience with this type of device that is direct ethernet connection with no TCP/ip protocol just direct link and how one could force firmware over such a connection. 

 

This is a long shot but I know theres some clever people here!
