Changing the GPU RTX 2060 backplate

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right sub-forum. Is it possible to remove the backplate that comes on the Gigabyte RTX 2060 (I hear it's plastic)? I see a few screws that look removable. Is it safe to replace the backplate, or will it be attached to something else and therefore a bad idea? Thanks.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

There’s a lot of GPUs that could be. With a lot of different backplate designs. Are you able to post pictures of it? 
Additionally this site has a bunch of pictures of 2060s at the bottom. You should be able to find your match.
