Dont ever use Userbenchmark, its not a valid benchmark.

As a warning, if you have any shut offs mid gaming, you may need a PSU that is 850-1000W, but if not then dont worry about it.

Otherwise its gonna limited if you play at 1080pby a bit, but other than that? Youll be fine for the most part.

the 3080 says it requires a 750w. and the one i have is almost brand new so its up to stander

but im gonna upgrade my cpu next month and get an i7 11700k

I would honestly reccomend a 10850k over a 11700k if its cheaper at all.

Yeah but the 30 series have the stupid power spike issue. Might work, but if you get random reboots or something like that you know it's because you need a bigger PSU and nothing is faulty

i wouldn't upgrade CPUs on that motherboard. if an 11700k is $300:

You can get a 12400F for $175 and a B660 for $120 and have a better performer and less expensive.

OR 5600 non-x for $159 and a B550 for $100. It will perform almost identically to the 5600x.

11700K performs worse than the 10900K

It's a hard spot. I originally bought a Z590 before the official benchmarks came out and the 10900K with the thought that if 11th gen was good, i would upgrade, and if it wasn't, i'd be happy with the 10900k.

Well turns out 11th gen is pretty terrible, often with regressions in performance especially at the high end. It's often why they're totally omitted from benchmarks because they're so bad.

Of the 11th gen lineup, I would say the 11400F is decent enough if its cheap (I got one for my TV gaming system for $129 OEM tray), as is the 11700K if you can get it cheap. They had them at microcenter a while back for $199, which is a good price, but I don't live near one. The 11900K is essentially the same as the 11700K but with a factory OC. It's just not worth it at all.

I regret buying the CPU/mobo I did, because although it's still pretty strong, and better than the 11900K due to its increased cache and core count, it lacks PCIE4 which also for Z590 owners means your primary M.2 is non-functional. I have no upgrade options in place since literally none of the 11th gen lineup are an actual upgrade over the 10900k sans PCIE4 support.

If instead I got a B550/X570 and a 5800x, I'd still be using it, or could instead upgrade to a 5800X3D and be near the top in gaming. But my ridiculous Intel bias got the better of me, and I had too much faith in 11th gen.

If you already have a 10400....the 11400 isn't really a significant upgrade. Perhaps try to find a cheap 11700F or 11700K/F and use that. I just don't know what to say man. The 11700k just isn't worth more than $200. Once you get to $300, you're absolutely better off getting an i5-12400 and cheap B660 or Ryzen 5 5600/B550 instead and keeping selling the 10400/Z590 standalone.

It's not a terrible proposition; however prices on the 12600K have gone up a bit since last time I checked. I got  the 12600KF for $229 for my BIL and an ASUS B660 since he won't ever OC. It runs great with the 3060ti.

999 what? If 999 USD, you got majorly ripped off, but I’m imagining you’re talking about CAD or AUD?

3080 can hog close to 450W spike, so, the issue is not your PSU couldn't handle the power, but if it will trip your PSU for suddenly drawing too much current from PSU that could trip the OCP, shutting down the PSU.

You'll be fine. Don't worry about bottleneck. I have very similar system to yours, same cpu - i5 10400f & few days ago I also bought RTX Asus TUF 3080 10gb OC edition for $830 & all my games are running like a butter now. No bottleck or low fps in any games & I play on 2k monitor. Just make sure you have good PSU. Mine is XFX pro black 1050w. It's a tier A PSU, one of the best, old though.

yes i have the asus tuf one too but its a 12gb model
