Can Gigabyte refuse warranty for me?

I am looking to buy a used Gigabyte RTX 3060 for 20000 INR ($245) which is a pretty sweet deal in India right now. The card is seven months old and was used for mining throughout the duration of the period. The reseller has the original receipt for it but not the box. So, it still has over 2  years of warranty period left. If something happens to the card after I buy it, would Gigabyte still cover the repair under the warranty or say that the warranty has been voided due to mining? Please help.

As far as I know, no-one can see if it has been mined. And there are also multiple ways to use a card for mining. They could go for a mild OC, and put the card in a shoe box. Or they could put the cards in an open-air rack, undervolt it (to optimize cost/running cost/performance) and have active cooling.

Unless the card is an actual Mining model card, they shouldn't be able to.  The more important question is if the warranty is transferable.  This is hard to understand for your region...   Extension language says purchaser has to apply for it but I am not sure if that means you have to extend or it's only 30 days.

Taking a guess here, but the way that I read the terms, it has to be registered within 30 days of purchase from an authorized reseller, so that would be non-transferable and only the original purchaser has a warranty. So if you buy it, keep in touch and become best friends for the next couple of years.

Right, hence my "unless" comment in the beginning.

 

I linked the India version of GPU warranty, in there somewhere is your answer.  If it's not clear, I suggest calling Gigabyte and asking them if your warranty is transferable, though I am fairly certain of the answer.
