I built my computer about a week ago, and everything has been going great except for the fact that every once in a while, normally after I install or play a game.  I open explorer and it takes a long 5-10seconds to open, I thought at first this might be the cpu, but the cpu load was 6% and the HD load was 10% and the memory load was 20%.

My specs are in my profile and I am running windows 8.1 update 1.

Is this just normal or could there be something wrong.

PS: nothing is overclocked, my bios is up to date, all my drivers are the latest and installed and my temperatures are perfectly good.

Thanks in advanced.

Thank goodness!  It doesnt massively bother me but I was just worried it could mean something was wrong.

Well, as long as it doesn't take too long. If it takes a very long time, then it would be a good time to get a bit worried.

Well, one time or right now, my brother had a bunch of tabs open in google chrome and firefox. Is that a reason my computer slows down?

Dude, this ain't your problem. It's Mike's. now leave before this thread comes out of hand.

Ahh that's good.... cause if it was running at 20% continuously I would be very worried.

cool, I've removed my hard drive and it seems to have stopped? :/  I think I'll go SSD only from now on.  Thanks for all your helpful help!

Can you take a screenshot of the processes in you task bar? Might a an infection.

I doubt it, I run scans with Malwarebytes and I have windows defender running 24/7.  I just checked task manager and I dont see anything weird.  :| I'll download KillSwitch and let it find any unknown processes.
