How to write a book

When I googled this talked about inspiration and stuff lol. My question is how to actually put together a book. I want it to be A5 sized and occasionally it will have visuals.

So you're talking about formatting a book for publication. There are a number of software programs, free and paid-for, that are available. Depends on what media the release is. Printed requires quite different layout from ebook.

I don’t necessarily want to publish it and I am not asking about the guidelines. My question is, how to actually format it. Like using what software and such.

Oh. Word, LibreOffice Writer. Then convert to suitable format. Or if you would go for print or format where layout is more important, Inkscape, LibreOffice Draw, CorelDRAW, MS Publisher etc.
