CPU question.

I've looked all over,  and I can't seem to find a answer to my question so I thought I'd try here. 

Trying to save a few bucks on a new build,  I wanted to purchase a 12600KF,  yes I know they don't have integrated graphics. I do however have a motherboard with thunderbolt 4 and a gpu enclosure with a 3080 in it for thunderbolt 4.

My question is will it work? Or should I just get the 12600k and then I don't have to worry?

Should work just fine from what I can tell. Thunderbolt 4 is thunderbolt 4 after all.

 

Personally I like to have a processor with intergrated graphics for trouble shooting reasons tho.

I'm a bit confused as to what you're trying to ask. Are you wanting to inject DP to the thunderbolt ports to use them to pass it through to a dock, or are you actually trying to use an eGPU on a desktop? If it's the second, why not just put it in the system, it would perform better and have less weirdness (those things working on desktops are hit or miss at best).

 

Either way it depends on the motherboard for how the Thunderbolt is laid out and how everything would work.

What dock is it? Can just chuck the egpu in the desktop usually.

 

Issue with thunderbolt on desktopnis that its not the same as in a laptop and egpu's rarelt work on desktop

Sorry,  I forget people don't know what hardware i'm running. I'm just going to buy the 12600k its 20.00 extra dollars and I know it'll work with my hardware I've selected. Thanks
