Use the onboard or if your audio is bad and/or you need an amp the E10 is the way to go unless your getting 150+ ohm or headphones that are generally hard to drive a D1 or O2 + ODAC are the next up.

For headphone use, the Syba DAC. The Behringer UCA202 is a good cheaper DAC, but that headphone port should NOT be used for critical listening (it'll work in a pinch if you need it to, but the 50ohm output impedance will make most headphones sound weird.

The E10 can drive more than 150 ohms usually. Most headphones are not that hard to drive even the 250 ohm Beyers or the 300 ohm Sennheisers but either way E10 was discontinued and like double the price now. Syba Dac/amp for $40 is nice if you need something to replace a broken onboard and then o2 amp would be the next step up.

Didn't know they discontinued it, I wonder why. I was just saying if he were to get something like the HE-400 which are 35 ohms but still need a pretty big amp to power them then the D1 or O2 + ODAC are what you need.

I think the E10 can still power those.

But if you go slightly higher, you can get an o2 amp and you usually do not need a DAC so that would be a better investment. The Fiio E10 at the end of the day is cheap Chinese equipment that sometimes have defects and not as good as an o2 amp. I do not think $100 is worth it for a Fiio E10.

The E10 should be cheaper than the E07k (Andes), which is $89 (the price of E07k). But like the AD700, extinct + high demand, the price sky-rocketed to $160 in amazon now....

Enjoy those tacos now, for in 1000 years they will be illegal... eh Ha Ha Ha! I think we all know why.

Yeah, the highest price in amazon for AD700 is $298 now, while the AD700x highest price is $140, half the price of the AD700...

Weird. Do people prefer the AD700 to the AD700X now or something? Some reviews I read said it wasn't much of an upgrade.
