So I have Corsair vengeance 3200mhz

16-18-18-36

that’s the xmp profile

I can run same timings 3333 mhz no problems

if I wanted to tighten the timings at 3200mhz where do I start ?

my pc is for gaming only will tightening ram make much of a difference/ is it worth the time and effort ?
Or is my kit low latency anyways ?

- 4000 32gb ram

tuning a ram kit is a bit time consuming and hard at first but will gain quite a bit of fps in the lows and or more fps if cpu bound, this guide is very helpful https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4 OC Guide.md

Main:

  • CPU
    10700k 5ghz All core 47 ring ratio 1.275v
  • Motherboard
    MSI Z590 A Pro
  • RAM
4x8 viper steel samsung bdie: 4200-17-17-30

  • Display(s)
    Acer Nitro vg272up, Kogan 24 1080 120hz
  • Cooling

    Cpu: i5-8400
    Cooling: ID-Cooling Frostflow 120x
Ram: 2x8gb 2666 c16 hyperx fury, tuned the absolute balls out of it but def not stehble.

timings definitely improve fps, but you need a mix of freq and timings to get the max out of the ram kit

It’s microstutters I’m trying to eliminate and I’m not sure if it’s my ram causing it or if it’s just the game

is there anything in the background causing it, cpu at 100 percent or something also what game is it?

No I have very minimum programs installed

only thing open and run in background are

Msi afterburner and

px1

game currently is assassins creed Valhalla however if I spin the camera 360 in any game I always get at least one micro stutter but the fps never drops

From what I gather running the 3333mhz will reduce the latency also as it’s refreshing faster

Do u think it’s better to run that or tune for 3200?

you could prob do 3600 with same timings or maybe even lower timings but cant know for sure until we know what ic it is

Chances are you probably won’t be able to drop the timings much. If you want tight timings you will have to ditch that kit and grab some B-Die. And from there you will be able to do what you want.

So I should just push the 3333mhz frequency then to get the most out of it ?

i think buildzoid does a vid on it, you might be able to do 3400mhz with the same primary but if 3400 works try higher freqs until it doesnt boot then if 3400 is the max or whatever it is follow the guide to lower timings
